Terms of Use

Last updated October 7, 2026

These terms cover your use of theClef (previously called theGigList), made by BenchFocus LLC, an Arizona company. By downloading, installing or using theClef, you agree to them. Questions: support@benchfocus.com.

Your license

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use theClef on devices you own or control, for you and your band. You may not resell, rent or redistribute the app, reverse-engineer it except where the law allows, or remove our notices. We keep all rights in the app; you keep all rights in your content.

Your content

Setlists, charts, parts and notes you create or import are yours and stay on your devices. Only load music, charts and lyrics you have the right to use; you're responsible for any copyright or licensing obligations for the material your band shares.

Purchases and subscriptions

Using theClef on stage

theClef connects your band's devices over your local network. Network conditions, other devices and venue Wi‑Fi are outside our control, so sync can be delayed or interrupted. Have a backup plan for important performances; we aren't responsible for a missed cue, a wrong song or a lost connection.

Updates

We may release updates that add, change or remove features. Some updates may be needed to keep the band's devices working together.

Acceptable use

Don't use theClef to break the law, infringe others' rights, interfere with other people's devices or networks, or try to get around paid features.

Disclaimers and liability

theClef is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose, and we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss of data stored on your devices. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for theClef in the 12 months before the claim.

Ending these terms

You can stop using theClef and delete it at any time. We may end your license if you break these terms. Sections about content, disclaimers and liability continue after that.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, except where your local consumer law gives you rights that can't be waived.

Changes to these terms

If we make significant changes, we'll update the date above. Continuing to use theClef after that means you accept the new terms.
